Industrial isn’t typically synonymous with refinement, unless it’s describing Chandra Moore’s exquisite transformation of the first-floor kitchen for the Detroit Designers’ Showhouse. She notes, “Kitchens are more open and airy and light and functional for today’s purposes.”
Moore kept original pieces like the stove to infuse authenticity into the space, while new fixtures such as a utility sink stayed within the industrial theme. “We chose the KOHLER® Farmstead™ sink because of the way the lines work in the space—it felt very traditional to match the house.” Different textures of black and white invoke a sleek and inviting color palette at every turn. Moore’s eclectic mix of original pieces and modern accoutrements make it the perfect backdrop for cooking and entertaining.
